although not a classic final barcelona were deserved winners of the champions league. they were the best team in the competition and proved this on wedneday night. i was also shocked to discover henry was staying with arsenal for another four years. all i can say is beware gunners fans as now he may feel you all owe him something.i commend his decision but i wonder if it was the right one for both him and arsenal. no skin off my nose though.
for us,the ruud saga continues, in the papers this morning he is been linked to both chelsea and newcastle. now when he shafted players in the past he sent them to different countries so the chances of them coming back to haunt him were minimal. if ruud does leave and go to an english side it could turn out to be managerial suicide on fergies part. i think its a crazy move to sell him in any case. isee on the one united web site the talk is about torres who scored fourteen goals in la liga this year. compare this to ruuds twentyone goals and you can see my point.
maybe ruud needs to be mothered. maybe his confidence is at an all time low and the last thing he needs is to be ostricised by his team and manager. maybe it is sometimes more productive to stand by players and support them as opposedto trying to shaft them and make examples of them.there is alot to be said for the power of reconcilliation and if we could choose this pathon this occasion it would pay dividends next.
maybe im just a dreamer.

well it was a long season withplenty of twisrs and turns. liverpool were blessed yesterday and if it wasnt for gerard they would have lost three nil.. i have to give it to him,he is a class act. without his inspiration they would be an average side. benitez is an organised but negative manager. like mourinho, his priority is not to loose matches but he lacks the quality in his squad of his iberian counterpart. ithought steve g might have been on the way out of anfield earlier in the season but their rise in form may have been enough to change his mind. i do believe liverpool overachieved this season however and i dont see them being top three material with their current squad.
chelsea lost their last two games of the season, the two which i expressed in an earlier post would give them most trouble.with news of one of their top performers wanting out in gallas and speculation rife about lampard leaving it will be interesting to see what next season holds in store for them. i think ballak, although undoubtedly a class act, has a very bad attitude and is looking to line his pockets before he gets too old.when the going gets tough where will he be. also you would have to wonder who is calling the shots at the club when they are trying to buy a has been like andre shevchenko. any time i watched him a few times in the c l and any team with the money chelsea have lookin to buy him would have to raise an eyebrow. is roman calling the shots or is jose loosing it.
arsenal are going the right way with a young side full of potential and are in the right hands with wenger. henrys departure looks iminent and the key to the side is the impressive fabregas. if he goes they will lack a back bone. it will also be interestin to see how walcott does in hte world cup i he plays.
as for us i dont no. whatever the story is with ruud i dont no but i hope it can be resolved and he will be in ot next season. the whole thing stinks if you ask me and there has to be more to it then meets the eye. up or down, his goal tally speaks for itself and he deserves to be treated better then he is at present.i was delighted with the keano testimonial which was the send off he deserved. he is united to the core still which is good to see.we need midfielders, two if possible.i also think eider gudjohnsencould be the catylistto us winning the premiership next season. he would be perfect for the style of football we play as a link man and i believe he could have the same effect as eric the king. stephen reid could also hold his own in our midfield anyway depending on who we buy in the summer, nextseason could be anything. we live in hope. keep the faith, stay red and dare to dream that the impossible can be achieved. love united.

last game of the season and no ruud. im disgusted. any respect i had for alex ferguson before today has evapourated. this stinks of the same stench as when stam, beckham and keane were all ousted. one too many bloody executions formy liking today.
i am so upset by todays events i almost hope we loose. whatever he is trying to achieve, its not conducive to team spirit. the days of bullying and threatening and acting like a prat are over alex. stop acting like a child.

appoligies for the non-existant recent post but i was so sick after the weekend i wasnt able to speak. i think we were a bit unlucky against chelsea because when we started to ask them some serious questions we were caught on the break. dont get me wrong, i think the best team won on the day but they werent three goals better. one thung which struck me after the game was the fact that chelsea are an infinitley more superior side defensivly then us. i am a firm believer in the best form in attack attack being the best form of defence but when push comes to shove you should be able to rely on your big men at the back to perform the basics. our big men were exposed bedly. this problem needs to be adressed badly before next season.
as for monday, confidence was low which is understandable. my heart goes out to ruud for missing the penalty and i dont think fans getting negative will get us anywhere. it was a poor poor performance and things can only get better from there. what is most important is three points on saturday and ending the season on a high note. this is vital for both players and fans alike. we came a long way this season, won a trophy and should be able to secure second place. this is a time for cool heads. we should all get behind our boys and have something to sing about next season.
as for ruud, i think it is imperative he gets back on the saddle and plays like his life depends on it on saturday. he is the best predator in the league and his goal tally to game ratio speaks for itself this season. i belive he has alot more to offer and if he was in the right place mentally he would be leading goalscorer in the league this season. i firmly believe he should start on saturday and be given one more chance to silence his critics. its the least the club owes him and he has the class to come through it.
i send my best wishes out to wayne rooney and i hope he recovers in enough time to play in the world cup and establish himself as one of the greatest in the world. up or down im looking forward to seeing him play next season.
stephen reid scored for blackburn last night and proved once again he can mix it with the big boys in the centre of the park. one other man who impressed me this season is mark hughes. early days yet but hughsie keeps rising to the challenges put in his way,he is united to the core, he is tough and genuine and i cant help thinking am i looking at the new united manager. time wil tell but i can think of worse candidates.
i havent backed a winner in four weeks so im no position to try and give advice about horses. a o brien looks badly out of form though and it will be interesting to see how his guineas runners fare out at the weekend.
keep the faith
