big match today. my heart says we win but my head says a draw. they wont want to give anything away so it might set the game up for us. we are better equipped to hurt them then any other team in the land and if we keep the head, keep our shape and stretch them we can beat them.
i can see liverpool drop points against aston villa today.
most of my tips for cheltenham ran well at punchestown winning or going close.
i hope we put down a big benchmark for next season and turn the blues over again.
keep the faith

well, chelsea wont be winning this double year and im not sorry. mourinho is an arrogant little man with nore money at his disposal then he knows what to do with in my oppinion. his number one priority is not to loose matches and this negative ideal has backfiredon him more then once this season, particularly against barcelona and liverpool in the fa cup. not only that but he didnt even shake benitez' hand after the match. now i hate the pool but if fergie didnt shake benitez hand after a match i would be disappointed. lets all remember one thing this is a GAME of football. the style of football you play and the honesty and effort you put into the way you play are more important then the result. jose is not a gracious winner and a sore looser, not the kind of attributes that will endear himself to me. he has shown that mentally he is unstable and i think both he and chelsea are there to be shot at next season, even with ballack.
as for united,i hope we beat chelsea in stamford bridge for starters. i no this sounds crazy but there is the tiniest flicker of hope yhe title is not over yet. at least we can finish on a high and have a good target to surpass next season. i hope we sign steven reid in the summer as he is young, strong, uses the ball well and is proven in the premiership. he wont cost the earth, plays with passion and would grow into a role in a top club like us. i also hope we hold on to ruud and our other big names for next season and return to the top where we belong.

poxy liverpool win with an offside goal, mourinho gets physical with official and media make nothing of it,united handed their easiest game of the run in and fail. it was a horrid weekend for me as everything began to fall apart. we tried hard against a resilliant sunderland but it wasnt to be im afraid and any aspirations we had of winning the title evaporated with the final whistle.
as i eluded to in my last post, this game was a potential banana skin for us and so it proved to be. every side,no matter how poor they are, have at least one big performance in them and friday was sunderlands. they rose to the occasion in fairness and were well worth the point to be fair. i thought fergie would have brought on saha but in hindsight maybe he had his eye on monday versus spurs and given the fact that we were playing the whipping boys of the premiership you couldnt really blame him. one thing that did bother me about friday night was the fact that some of our supporters began leaving five minutes from the finish and when the chips were down during the game they struggled to find their voice. ihave only once had the privelage of visiting old trafford and i noticed how quiet our fans could be then too. we have the biggest ground capacity in england and we have more to cheer about then most teams and old trafford should be an intimidating fortress for any side to come to.
as for the rest of the season we need to beat spurs tomorrow and chelsea in stamford bridge to round off our year. in fairness, we have one more trophy than 05 and played some great attacking football after christmas. if we can continue winning we can carry on next season where we left off and with a more solid midfield we can really push for the title next season. speaking of new midfielders, i saw stephen reid play the first 45 for blackburn. when i heard of fergies interest in him, i like manyothers was sceptical. however looking at him today i was impressed with his ability to read the game, his tackling and his use of the ball. he is young, wouldnt cost the earth and although i wouldnt judge him on 45 minutes, he had no problem containing sissoko or alonso today which is no mean feat.
as for mourinho and chelsea i believe they are on the highway to football hell. money cant buy love or the champions league and the fact that they have absolutly no class or grace will ensure that they will remain under constant scrutiny as the most hated team in eurpoe. not only that but roman obramovich has not got where he is today by hemmeoraging money on overpriced average players who cant do the buisness in europe. everyone at chelsea, including mourinho is dispensible if the owner thinks so and all their days are numbered. it couldnt be the most pleasent club to play nfor and its only a matter of time before this begins to manifest itself through the side, if it hasnt already. once this rot sets in not even micheal ballack can save them.
anyway we ned to focus on ourselves and next season and unite behind our team, the greatest club in europe, and pray for a fruitful season in 06/07.keep the faith. d.

just a quick note on the state of the play at the moment. as we stand chelsea should go on and win the league. however i dont see it happening and here is the reason why.
there is a fundamental difference between them this season and last. where as last season they were talkingabout who could stop them, this year mourinho and chelsea are coming out with statements like we can loose two games and still win and wanting to win the title in stamford bridge which means they didnt see themselves taking maximum points. its my belief that when an attitude like this creeps intoa a side they are on a path to disaster. not only that but rumours of rifts and players selling stories to papers indicate that all is not as well as they would have us believe. their recent form franks this point of view and with two tough games against blackburn and bolton, anything could happen.
united on the other hand no what they have to do. nothing short of winning all their remaining matches will suffice. that does not look beyond the realms of possibility, especially in the form we are in now. should chelsea drop any pointsi believe its game over and united will pull it off. time will tell but i can see something special happening. first and foremost we must beat sunderland(a potential banana skin). keep the faith. d.

well that was sweet. as i predicted we had too much fire power for the gunners and were well worth our two goal victory. rooney was class, o shea and giggs dominated midfield and ferdinand and vidic were immense at the back. a performance to savour andregardless of what the outcome of this season we have plenty to look forward to for next season. not only that but on foot of our recent form we will have no problem attracting new blood to the side.
as for the boys in blue they won well on sunday. when playing a side with ten men the most important thing to do is keep your shape and keep your cool and you will stretch them. west ham failed to do this and payed the price. i thought chelsea would win,not as well as they did mind you, but they will not haveit as easy against bolton or blackburn, both pushing for europe and both wanting to make a mark for next season. should they drop points hey will be petrified playing us at stamford bridge. on the other hand we must take three points against sunderland and put it up to them every step of the way.
make no mistake, its far from over. i can see it go down to the last game of the season and if we can pull it off, this will be without doubt the greatest league victory of all time. there is a sense of magic in the air,the dream is on, all we have to do is believe and enjoy. keep the faith and believe.

well the national was a good result for the irish but not for me as i backed garvivonnian and innox. however i was on asian maze and she prooved to all , me included, that they were right to run her in the national. numbersixvalverde won well and has a better chance of repeating his success than hedgehunter if campaigned shrewdly. the finishing order franks the form of the race. after punchestown i will be watching more than backing as flat racing doesnt interest me as much as it used to. yoo many ifs and iffy rides and too much racing. by the way get on dun doire for the irish national as the handicapper hasnt goy him yet, the step up in trip will suit and he can go on to win the english national next year.
now for the football. today we will witness what could be the pivotal point of the season. i believe united have the form and ability to do arsenal today. it should be an open and entertaining game but i think we are better equipped to expose their defence than any side that has played them. however its the confidence the side would get from beating an in form arsenal that will make us unbeatable and will make chelsea look over their shoulders.
at best west ham will hold chelsea to a draw but believe me, if we win today jose will be as sick as a swan with a bad dose of bird flu, regardless of te result of their game. i can see chelsea loose points to bolton and blackburn away and they still have to play us. as i said,i can see this going down to the wire and i fancy us to pull it off. nothing short of a win for us today will suffice. commeth the hour commeth the men.
come on united put it up tp them and proove we are the best club in the world.

oh ye of little faith. anybody who listened to me would not be surprised to see united begin to turn the heat up on chelsea. mourinhos negative approach to matches and his desire not to concede has at last caught up with him. his luck has run out and his team look short of harmony and inspiration. needless to say our match v arsenal is huge but if we can turn them over it will send a shiver down the spines of theboys in blue. up or down i am proud of our team and we can all look forward to next season with renewed optimism. as for the remainder of the season we are playing the best football in the league along with arsenal and saturdays match has the makings of a classic encounter. if we can pull it off who knows.
on the racing front the national looks like going to hedgehunter but at5/1 i wont be on. it is a tough race to win back to back and i am more interested in innox particularly if ap rides and dun doire if he gets in. also neill callan is a fair outside bet for the jockeys championship and may be worth a small punt. anyway come on united keep the faith and keep the three points rollin
